H&H provided construction inspection services for the major reconstruction of NY Route 112 in Suffolk County, just north of the Long Island Expressway (LIE) at Exit 64. The work provided a 12-foot travel lane in both directions, a 13-foot two-way left turn lane, and five-foot shoulders for improved traffic flow and reduced accidents. The site extended from the LIE north to Granny Road. Improvements included all new traffic and countdown pedestrian crossing poles, signal controllers, curbs, sidewalks, ADA ramps, positive drainage, continuous curb, landscaping, bike lanes in both directions, as well as safety improvements at the intersection of NY 112/Horseblock Road (CR16). Privately owned facilities, such as utility poles and aerial utility lines as well as underground utilities, were relocated as necessary by their respective owners.

The project site is a busy state highway in Brookhaven, with numerous retail establishments on both the east and west sides of the road. Maintaining access to local businesses and the LIE is critical. The project involved night and weekend work to ensure minimized disruption to traffic.
