Steve Zsinko & David Derks Join H&H

H&H Welcomes Steve Zsinko, PE, and David Derks, who will join our offices in the Midwest. Steve will serve as a Project Engineer in H&H’s Chicago office. David is joining the Freight Rail Group in the Minnesota Office as a Structural Designer. “We are delighted that Steve and David are joining our Midwest practice,” said Regional Manager Anne Zweibel. “We look forward to Steve’s and David’s experiences enhancing our rapidly growing team.”

Steve is a Civil Engineer with 14 years of experience designing and evaluating bridges, including rehabilitation and repair, foundation rehabilitation, erection and demolition, and earth retention systems. He has served as a Project Engineer/Resident Engineer on several high-profile projects for the City of Chicago, including Congress St. Bascule Bridge and the Torrence Avenue Vertical Lift Bridge. Steve is a licensed PE in 14 states, has a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois, Chicago, and is a member of ASCE, AISC, and HMS.

David has a BS & MS in Civil Engineering from Purdue University. With the goal of improving AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design and Construction Specifications, David’s Master’s Research Thesis included an experimental investigation of post-tensioned and pre-tensioned half-scale bridge girders. As a research assistant, David performed NDT and failure testing on retired INDOT bridge girders and experimental FRP rehabilitation of deteriorated end regions in INDOT bulb-tee bridge beams. David also worked as a Structures Design Intern for the BNSF Railway.
