H&H performed a detour analysis to verify the feasibility of the proposed ramp and the effect on the existing traffic operations for the Port Authority. Traffic volumes from 2010 were grown to the 2018 build year utilizing the NJTPA Plan 2040 growth rates.

Volumes were rerouted based on the proposed lane closures and to the temporary ramp to obtain detour conditions. A Synchro and SimTraffic analysis were performed.

The rehabilitation of two airport bridges required a six-month closure of two of the three lanes on a recirculation road. A temporary exit road slip ramp will be constructed to connect the exit road and the entrance road immediately past the bridges.
