The Johnson Street Bridge Celebrates Ribbon Cutting

April 5, 2018

(Victoria, British Columbia, CA) H&H Chief Technical Officer, Keith Griesing, took part in the Grand Opening Celebration and Ribbon Cutting for the new Johnson Street Bridge on Saturday, March 31.  The event celebrated the bridge’s opening to traffic.

The celebration began with a lowering of the bridge, a speech by City of Victoria Mayor, Lisa Helps, and a ribbon cutting.  Following the ribbon cutting, the community was invited to walk across the new bridge for the first time.  The street party that followed included a picnic on both the new bridge and the old bridge (Old Blue) and other activities.  The party went late into the night, when a disco ball was illuminated on the old bridge and a dance party began.

The first public vehicles crossed the new bridge for the first time at 9 pm.
