H&H Announces Jeffrey Konrad and Daniel Machamer Have Joined the Firm

H&H is pleased to announce that Jeffrey Konrad, PE and Daniel Machamer, PE, SE, have joined the firm. Mr. Konrad will serve as National Director of Passenger and Transit Rail, and Mr. Machamer as Principal Bridge Engineer.

As National Director of Passenger and Transit Rail, Jeffrey Konrad will lead our practice that includes bridge, station, and facility design, inspection and maintenance services for our passenger and transit rail clients. He is an active member of AREMA and the American Society of Civil Engineers.

Mr. Konrad has more than 30 years of experience in the management and design of railroad and highway projects, with extensive knowledge in bridge replacement, inspection and structural rating, and construction inspection. Most recently, he served as Vice President & Senior Project Director of a national engineering firm. He has served as Project Manager for mega rail bridge projects including the Amtrak /NJ TRANSIT Portal Bridge Design, the Amtrak Susquehanna River Bridge Conceptual/ Preliminary/Final Design, and the NJ TRANSIT Mid-Line Loop Project.

Mr. Konrad earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Lafayette College and his MBA from Rutgers University. He also served as an adjunct engineering instructor teaching engineering classes such as Statics and Dynamics and is a licensed Professional Engineer in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Maryland.

As Principal Bridge Engineer, Daniel Machamer will be responsible for leading the design of railway and highway, movable, and fixed bridge projects in the Midwest, as well as assisting with business development. He is a movable bridge specialist with more than 30 years of experience in the planning and design of complex highway and railway bridge projects. Most recently he served in a similar role for a national engineering firm, leading and performing inspections, evaluations, and rehabilitation designs for numerous existing bridges.

Mr. Machamer has inspected and or designed rehabilitations for more than 25 movable bridges and has provided design plans for more than ten new ones. His railroad engineering experience includes bridge replacements, commuter boarding platforms, retaining walls, tunnels, inspection, and load rating. Signature projects include the ArcelorMittal Bascule Rail Bridge over the Indiana Harbor Canal, the major rehabilitation of the South 1st Street Bascule Bridge in Milwaukee, WI, the Cowan Lorraine Bascule Bridge in Gulfport, MS, and the design of three rapid bridge replacements, a pedestrian tunnel, and two high-level commuter boarding platforms in NW Indiana.

He has a Bachelor of Science, Civil Engineering degree from the University of Illinois-Champaign and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Indiana, Illinois, Mississippi, and Wisconsin, as well as a licensed Structural Engineer in Illinois.
