Celebrating Esu Ekeruche – Recipient of H&H’s National Society of Black Engineers’ Scholarship

May 3, 2021

H&H is proud to announce that Esu Ekeruche is the 2021 recipient of the Hardesty & Hanover Scholarship through the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE).  Ms. Ekeruche received the honor during NSBE’s recent virtual annual meeting. She was selected for the scholarship by a panel of H&H employees who reviewed more than 60 applicant submissions.

“We were honored to be able to participate in NSBE’s 2021 Scholarship Program; we were grateful to receive applications from so many deserving students; they made the selection difficult,”  said H&H CEO Sean Bluni.  “Esu’s volunteer efforts and working with the younger generation stood out as the winning participant in the scholarship search,”  said H&H panelist Amy Robards. “I wanted to participate in this review and evaluation to give something back, to possibly make a difference in another student’s life the way those scholarships did for me years ago. It was an extremely difficult choice, ”  said H&H panelist James Englert.

Ms. Ekeruche is a rising Junior in Texas A&M University’s Electrical Engineering program. She is also pursuing a minor in Mathematics and a certificate in Holistic Leadership in Engineering.  She is a member of the University’s Zachry Leadership Program, a five-semester program to grow in leadership, the free enterprise system, and service.  In the recent past, Ms. Ekeruche received The Society of Petroleum Engineers Gulf Coast Section Scholarship, 2019, the President’s Volunteer Service Award, 2019, and the Ron Brown Captain Award, 2019.

The NSBE Scholarship program allows corporate, government, nonprofit and individual partners to make a lasting impact on the collegiate membership of NSBE while promoting the importance of diversity in the workplace and academic excellence on the college and university campus.

Congratulations Ms. Ekeruche!  We can’t wait to see what you achieve!
