Celebrating Charles J. Gozdziewski

With sincere gratitude, H&H announces that Charles J. Gozdziewski has transitioned from his role on the executive management team and his principal position. We are pleased that Charlie will continue with the firm as a Senior Advisor.

Charlie’s career has been one of great merit, having served in various roles with H&H for more than 40 years. Before becoming Principal Emeritus, he served as Board Chairman, CEO, and President of the Construction Services Division. He has also served as Principal and Project Manager. His work has included the design of all types of movable, fixed and railroad bridges as well as special structures.

During his career, Charlie has participated in the design, inspection, evaluation, and rehabilitation of over 1,000 bridges and structures in the United States, particularly in the New York and New Jersey metropolitan area. He served as Principal-in-Charge for key H&H projects including Willis and 3rd Avenue Swing Bridges over the Harlem River, Ninth Street Vertical Lift Bridge over Gowanus Canal, New Croton Dam Arch Bridge in Westchester, Roslyn Segmental Bridge in Long Island, Route 1-9(T)/Route 7 Interchange in Jersey City, Harlem River Drive Viaduct over 127th Street Manhattan, and Kew Gardens Interchange. Major Bridge Rehab Projects include the George Washington, Triborough, Williamsburg, Verrazano, Throgs Neck, Bronx Whitestone, Marine Parkway and Pulaski Skyway.

Charlie is currently Vice Chair of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) which represents over 5,000 companies and 680,000 employees. He is also National ACEC PAC Chairman, Co-Chair of the Budget Committee, Planning Cabinet and Transportation Committee. At this May’s Annual Convention he will become Chair-Elect and then will become Chair in April 2020. He is also active with ACEC New York and is currently on the Nominating Committee for both the State and Metro Region, Legislative Committee, Public Policy Committee, and Co-Chair NYS PAC. Charlie is also Past Chair of ACECNY State, ACECNY Metro, and ASCE Met Structures Group.
