2019 Willie Chang Award for Lifetime Achievement Given to William Nyman

H&H bestowed the Willie Chang Award For Lifetime Achievement on William “Bill” Nyman during a recent luncheon at the firm. The Willie Chang Award is given in recognition and appreciation of a career of outstanding accomplishments and contributions to the firm and the engineering industry.

Recipients of the Willie Chang Award are engineers that have upheld the H&H tradition of excellence through their extraordinary engineering capabilities, innovative yet practical solutions to technical challenges, and commitment to mentoring future generations of H&H engineers.  Their exceptional technical achievements are numerous, and their dedication to H&H, our clients and the engineering community have built upon our legacy and have inspired us to continue to achieve excellence.

This years recipient, Bill Nyman, has been with Hardesty & Hanover for more than 35 years and has served as a Project Manager for numerous major projects with construction costs ranging up to $612 million.  His signature projects include Willis Ave. Bridge over the Harlem River, Bruckner Expressway over Westchester Creek (Unionport Bridge), Marine Parkway Bridge over the Rockaway Inlet and the Third Avenue Swing Bridge, to name a few.  “He is a unique professional with a special blend of project management expertise and extraordinary engineering capability.  Our clients trust him to solve their most challenging problems for more than three decades,” said Sean Bluni, H&H CEO.
