Three Projects Receive Honors from ACEC NY

April 11, 2022

H&H was honored to receive three EEA awards at the recent Engineering Excellence Ceremonies from the American Council of Engineering Consultants of New York (ACEC NY).

      • Metro-North Railroad Replacement of Four Bridges, Mount Vernon, NY, Gold Award, Structural Systems
      • New York City DOT Henry Hudson Parkway Viaduct Rehabilitation, New York, NY, Gold Award, Special Projects
      • New York State DOT Route 112 Reconstruction, Medford, NY, Silver Award, Special Projects

The awards were presented at the association’s recent Engineering Excellence Gala at the Hilton Midtown in New York City.

For the Metro-North Railroad Replacement for Four Bridges, H&H provided complete engineering services from initial inspection and load ratings through final design documents. Two more bridges in the project will be replaced/rehabilitated.

For the Henry Hudson Parkway Viaduct Rehabilitation, H&H provided resident engineering and construction inspection services for the Viaduct, traversed by 129,000 motorists every day.

Fort the Route 112 Reconstruction, H&H provided construction inspection services for the major reconstruction in Suffolk County, just north of the Long Island Expressway (LIE). The work provided a 12-foot travel lane in both directions, a 13-foot two-way left turn lane, and five-foot shoulders for improved traffic flow and reduced accidents.

ACEC NY’s annual Engineering Excellence Awards competition recognizes engineering firms for projects with high innovation, achievement, and value. Each year, firms submit projects judged on rigorous criteria, including complexity, innovation, and value to society. H&H has received engineering excellence honors from ACEC NY every year for 18 years.

Congratulations to each of the project teams on these honors.
