H&H will be serving as lead Construction Support Services Consultant to Amtrak on the $1.5B project to replace the aging Portal North Bridge. The 111-year-old bridge over the Hackensack River will be replaced with a high-level, fixed span, network tied-arch bridge allowing marine traffic to pass underneath without interrupting rail traffic. The new bridge will rise more than 50 feet over the river and, including the approaches, spanning nearly two miles.

As part of a task order agreement with Amtrak, H&H will perform pre-construction award services to include technical review of bid documents, bid support (RFIs), bid reviews, and construction management planning to support Amtrak.

Post-construction award services include coordinating force account work, coordinating submittal reviews, quality management, claim review, stakeholder coordination, and construction inspection as requested by Amtrak.
