Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise’s $192 million design-build project advances the expansion and modernization of a 3.5-mile segment of Florida’s Turnpike (SR 91) from south of Clay Whaley Road to US-192 in Osceola County. The work includes widening and reconstructing the mainline to expand capacity from four to eight lanes, with interim striping configured for four lanes to support future growth.
A centerpiece of the project is the extension of Nolte Road from Old Canoe Creek Road, featuring a new diverging diamond interchange that will provide full access to and from SR 91. The project also replaces two existing SR 91 bridges over the St. Cloud Canal and constructs two new Nolte Road overpass bridges spanning SR 91, improving regional connectivity and safety.
As a member of the design-build team, H&H is providing temporary traffic control, toll system design, and structural engineering for the toll sites. Additional corridor improvements include enhanced drainage, noise walls, signalization and pavement markings, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), roadway lighting, toll facility upgrades, and landscape opportunity planning.
Together, these improvements support increased mobility, reduced congestion, and long-term, sustainable growth along this critical corridor.
