H&H provided mechanical and electrical engineering for the rehabilitation on the mechanical equipment on the Davidson Yard Turntable. The project included the installation of new primary reducers, new VFD controlled drive motors, rehabilitation of the central bearing, installation of new electrical control system, installation of new turntable lighting with energy efficient metal halides, and LED fixtures. A new control station was also provided.

Davidson Yard is where Union Pacific’s key north-south and east-west routes meet making it a vital transportation hub. Equipped with 69 sets of railroad tracks, Davidson Yard is one of Union Pacific’s largest freight classification facilities. Operations include more than 100 daily train movements to handle in- and out-bound trains.
