H&H worked closely with the contractor, design team, and CTRMA to develop a plan for distributing aesthetic costs throughout the 183A Toll Road project. Also provided load rating analysis of all bridge structures and construction support throughout the design-build process.

The team led the development of the aesthetic scheme for all structural elements of the project and the production of aesthetic project standards that balanced visual appeal with constructability.

CTRMA’s first project, this 11-mile new Toll Road facility, included 21 bridges and miscellaneous structures (retaining walls, drainage structures, sign supports, and toll gantries). Bridge structures are multiple-span prestressed concrete beam units spanning lower roadways, creeks, and railroads.
