We are pleased to announce that Mishac K. Yegian, Ph.D., PE, Fellow ASCE, has been appointed Chief Seismic Engineer for H&H. A leading expert in earthquake engineering, Dr. Yegian brings decades of academic and professional experience to this role. He served as a Distinguished Professor in the College of Engineering at Northeastern University and led the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering as Chair from 1984 to 2001.

Dr. Yegian is a widely published and internationally recognized for geotechnical earthquake engineering, geosynthetics, and post-earthquake investigations. His research contributions have earned him numerous accolades, including the prestigious Thomas B. Middlebrooks Award from the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) for his papers published in the ASCE Journal of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering.

Nationally, Dr. Yegian has served on multiple technical and seismic code committees and has organized conferences in his areas of expertise to advance the state of the practice.  He has served as a seismic consultant on numerous large projects, including power plants, dams, landfills, and new and historic bridges, such as the New Goethals Bridge and the Brooklyn Bridge.

Dr. Yegian has been consulting with H&H on complex and critical bridges since 2003 and has become an integral part of our Geotechnical and Bridge Engineering practices.  “We are honored to welcome Dr. Mishac Yegian as our Chief Seismic Engineer. As the Chief Seismic Engineer, Dr. Yegian will oversee our expanding seismic engineering practice and support the Geotechnical and Bridge Engineering teams in delivering projects.
