August 11, 2021

H&H recently received the 2020 ACEC Florida EEA Grand Award for the Main Street Bridge Replacement Project at the 2020/2021 FES/ACEC-FL Annual Conference Banquet held August 6, 2021, at The Breakers Palm Beach. While the award was for the 2020 calendar year, this was the associations first event to celebrate the 2020 winners.

The project also received a 2020 National Recognition Award from ACEC National and a 2019 Outstanding Project Award from ACEC Florida. Henri Sinson, PE, Principal Associate, and the Fort Lauderdale Office Manager, accepted the award on behalf of H&H.

H&H provided bridge inspection, structure analysis, and engineering design services for the project. The bridge carries four lanes of US 1 (northbound and southbound) over the St. Johns River in downtown Jacksonville. The bridge is 1,679-feet-long and consists of 17 spans, including the 386-foot Warren through truss vertical lift span. The original bridge was constructed in 1941.

The American Council of Engineering Companies of Florida (ACEC-FL) ’s Engineering Excellence Awards (EEA) annually acknowledges Florida engineering firms’ innovative applications and elaborate projects.
