H&H Wins Bridge Building Competition at the State of Maryland’s Annual Quality Conference

February 2, 2018

H&H’s Annapolis structural team won the long span bridge (20″) category during Wednesday’s annual bridge building competition at Maryland DOT’s annual Maryland Quality Initative Conference in Baltimore, MD. This is the third time out of three MDQI Bridge Building Compeitions they have won.

The competition required teams to build a bridge on-site using Maryland State Highway-provided popsicle sticks and glue guns. Teams could bring any hand tolls they wanted…no power tools or drills etc. A maximum time limit of 2:45 minutes to build the bridge. The team used every minute of that time.

The lightest bridge to successfully carry 60 pounds for 10 seconds would be the winner.  The H&H bridge weighed just over 100 grams.
