H&H Opens New Hampshire Office, Announces Hiring of Christopher Baker, PE

We are pleased to announce the opening of our latest office in Bedford, New Hampshire. With this opening, we continue our commitment to to growing and expanding our New England presence.

In conjunction, Christopher D. Baker, PE, has joined H&H as our New England Regional Manager. Chris brings 38 years of experience in transportation engineering throughout New England, and has extensive experience in project management, task management, construction management, and inspection for an array of public and private clients.

Chris has led major projects such as the bridges for NHDOT’s $400 million I-93 Widening from Salem to Manchester and the award-winning $250 million Little Bay Bridges project, as well as the $38 million Missisquoi Bay Bridge in Vermont. Several of his projects have involved Alternative Project Delivery methods (Design-Build, CMGC), including APD projects in Maine, NH, Vermont, Massachusetts, and Virginia. As Hardesty & Hanover’s overall New England Regional Manager Chris is responsible for overseeing the business activities for the New England region, working with our local Managers in Massachusetts and Connecticut.

Michael Hawkins, PE, will continue in his current role as our New Haven, CT Office Manager, and will remain focused on our CT clients and projects, and continue to provide project management for complex bridge design projects throughout New England. In addition, Mike has taken on the firm-wide role of Deputy Director of Operations for H&H. In this role, Mike will oversee several of our company’s operating functions.

Hardesty & Hanover has a longstanding and continued presence in the New England region as designers of the original Memorial Bridge in Portsmouth (NH)-Kittery (ME), the Carlton Bridge in Bath, ME, and the I-95 Piscataqua River Bridge that carries 30 million vehicles annually between New Hampshire and Maine. H&H is the currently completing the iconic movable span design of the Sarah Mildred Long Bridge CMGC project, also between Portsmouth, NH, and Kittery, Maine.
