The Glenn Curtiss Boulevard Bridge Rehabilitation Project has been recognized with both the American Society of Civil Engineers Project of the Year – Bridges Award and the American Society of Highway Engineers 2026 Project of the Year Award, highlighting the project team’s success in restoring a critical transportation link while maintaining access for residents, businesses, and local institutions throughout construction.

Project improvements included removal of the existing paint system, repairs to the steel superstructure, rehabilitation of stone masonry and concrete elements, and replacement of the pedestrian pathway and fencing, extending the service life of the bridge and enhancing safety for the traveling public.

Located adjacent to Kellenberg Memorial High School and serving several major community destinations, the project required careful planning and coordination to minimize impacts to daily operations, school activities, and local traffic.

Through collaboration, technical expertise, and innovative construction solutions, the project was completed 120 days ahead of schedule, avoiding a potential winter shutdown and delivering critical infrastructure improvements to the community months earlier than anticipated.
