The New Hampshire Society of Professional Engineers (NHSPE) has named Fernanda Fischer, PE as its 2026 Young Engineer of the Year (YEOY), one of the highest honors awarded by the New Hampshire Engineering Societies. This prestigious award recognizes engineers who have made outstanding contributions to the engineering profession, public welfare, and humankind.
Fernanda was selected for her exceptional technical expertise, leadership, and commitment to advancing the profession. With experience spanning both vertical and horizontal structures, she has demonstrated remarkable versatility, seamlessly transitioning from building design to complex bridge rehabilitation and replacement projects. Her collaborative approach and dedication to excellence consistently elevate both her projects and the teams she leads.
In addition to her technical accomplishments, Fernanda is widely recognized for her mentorship and service to the engineering community. “Fernanda mentors with a blend of approachability, directness, and unwavering willingness to help,” said Caitlyn Jamison, reflecting the positive and lasting impact she has on colleagues and future engineers alike.
Fernanda will be formally recognized at the 2026 Engineers’ Week Awards Banquet on February 24, 2026.
