NCBC Webinar Series: “A Review of Precast Concrete Segmental Bridge Design Resources” Presented by John Corven

July 17 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

The National Concrete Bridge Council (NCBC) is pleased to continue our webinar program on Wednesday, July 17th, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm ET, where John Corven will review Precast Concrete Segmental Bridge Design Resources.

Whether you are involved in bridge design, maintenance, construction, or asset management we will continue to bring valuable insights regarding the concrete bridge industry to you every month. Certificates of attendance are available for these free webinars.

Since their introduction more than 50 years ago concrete segmental bridges have played an important part in our infrastructure. Specialized casting and construction methods have produced cost-effective bridges that are adaptable to any highway geometry or site constraints. This online seminar covers typical span lengths, construction methods, resources from ASBI and PCI.

Following this webinar, the participant will be able to:

·    Identify available resources for the design and construction of precast segmental bridges.

·    Develop an understanding of the contents of these resources.

·    Choose preliminary dimensions and proportions of a concrete segmental bridge.

·    Describe the geometry required to cast and erect concrete segmental bridges.

·    Anticipate challenges and explore solutions provided by concrete segmental construction.

·    Integrate this information through project case studies.

You can also direct questions to John Corven during a live Q&A at the end of the presentation.

Total PDH credit is 1 hour for this webinar. PCI (a member of NCBC) has met the standards and requirements of the Registered Continuing Education Program (RCEP). Credit earned on completion of this program will be reported to RCEP. Credit is only applicable for live attendance for the full duration of the webinar. OnDemand/replay credit is not available.
