Andy Herrmann, PE, Named ASCE Pittsburgh Civil Engineer of the Year

Andy Herrmann, PE, was named Pittsburgh American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Civil Engineer of the Year at their Annual Awards Banquet on February 23rd.

The Civil Engineer of the Year is nominated by the section members and must meet 10 points of criteria to be named the awardee. The criteria includes reputation, notable performance, meritorious achievement, distinguished service acknowledged eminence, character and integrity, community service, contributions, original work, and participation in ASCE.

Herrmann, a Principal of Hardesty & Hanover has been with the firm for 40 years in roles ranging from Structural Designer to Managing Partner. During that time he has been responsible for the management of the firm and many of the firm’s major fixed and movable bridge projects. His experience covers design, inspection, rating, rehabilitation, and construction of bridges. Herrmann is Immediate Past Chairman of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC).
